Siberia is lacking big Java events. Bringing celebrity speakers to smaller local meetups is difficult and expensive. The nearest conferences are in Moscow, hundreds miles away. At the same time, there is a community: JUGnsk meetups steadily gets 200+ attendees.

Enters idea: let’s make kind of a JUGnsk meetup, but day-long, with speakers from all over the world, more partner companies involved, more topics in Java, more speakers by community requests, with workshops. That’s how SnowOne came to life.
